Electro-Magnetic Induction (EMI)

EMI is a main method of locating underground services using electricity and can be utilised on most soil types. EMI can not only locate underground services but can also estimate the depth of the pipeline. How EMI works is that a transmitter is used to send an alternating electric current below the ground, then a receiver is used to analyse the transmitted electrical current and pinpoint where and depth of the underground service pipe. By utilising EMI, it can accurately locate your underground service without having to excavate the ground.
